Urban Debaters is a fun debating youth project that focuses on developing key skills in how to debate, communicate and argue your opinions confidently, constructively, and comprehensively. Top Lawyers will share all their techniques; as you research and debate current issues, play fun debating games; and learn how to speak confidently in any situation. Ending with a ‘Big Debate Off’ and prize giving ceremony.
Through the Urban Debaters project, we open up the skills of communication and debating in fun but challenging workshops. This project provides the skills necessary to communicate thought, through logical and factual arguments with accuracy and emotional appeal to the audience. Often the go to emotion for young people when challenged is anger and negativity. We aim to provide young people with the tools to respond positively, and develop relationships based on good communication.
Developing the arts of persuasion, debating, public speaking, and ultimately their confidence, young people will reap the benefits of these transferrable skills across all areas of their lives.
